Nipples. Everyone has them! Whether or not you like to show yours off, in many countries and cultures it’s considered taboo to do so. Luckily there are many ways to hide your nipples and make them more discreet through clothing and accessories. Find out how to prevent your nipples from showing through your shirt. Or, if you prefer to bare yours, we’ve got tips on how to do so with class!

Clothing:

Ways to hide your nipples range from the very basic and branch out into new innovations. The most common way to hide your nipples is through clothing. Women can wear clothing that doesn’t accentuate their shape. This includes blouses with print, pattern, color, and texture. However, if you have to wear a white shirt or your nipples are intent on showing through your printed tops, there are other options too.

Molded Cup Bras:

Some bras such as padded cup bras have thicker molding and may alleviate this issue. (A good example of this style is the Parfait Charlotte bra). However, many of the most popular molded cup bra styles today are made of softer materials. These materials mold to your body, creating a smooth and comfortable feel. Unfortunately, with the softer material, comes less nipple protection. But there’s no need to ditch that fabulous bra! Just choose a simple nipple cover for a discreet solution. No one will ever know!

Nipple Covers:

One of our most popular accessories that comes in an adorable little package is Dimr’s. These little, non-adhesive nipple covers are fabulous. The silicone covers are smooth, easy to put in any bra, and work really well! (They are even available in two different skin tones, which is important if you plan on wearing light colors or white tops.) Think of Dimr’s as an extra layer of self-defense. They are an excellent way to prevent your nipple from showing through your clothing. There are also adhesive coverings, or nipple covers with adhesive, which are great for some tops. However, if you plan to use them for everyday use, the non-stick Dimr’s are best.

If you’re on an extreme budget, other adhesive coverings include flower-shaped pasties or even band aids!

Nursing and Nipples:

Nursing women often suffer from sore and inflamed nipples. A good solution to leaking nipples is breast pads. They are much thicker than most of the nipple coverage options, but also contain an absorbent material to avoid a mess. Post nursing, nipples may still be more prominent than normal. There’s an easy fix for this: nipple covers! Using something such as Dimr’s is a small sacrifice for making a human being. Totally worth it!

Showing Your Nipples:

If you have the guts to show a little bit of extra shape, why not? Choose a lace bra with some sheer to it like the Simone Perele Delice bra. It has a beautiful, smooth shape, with no molding. Wearing a bra like this is a simple and alluring option.

Breast Surgery:

Additionally, some surgical patients have lost the look of nipples. Mastectomy patients can use a prosthesis with a subtle nipple shape to regain a sense of their womanhood. While the vintage “Nipple Bra” from the 1970s is no longer in fashion, one could understand the appeal of such a nipple enhancing bra. Especially for women who have had reconstructive surgery.

Whichever camp you’re in – to bare or barely there – you have many options. Choose the option that best fits your own personal taste. Whatever makes you feel you’re very best!
